“The TX Fast Track program is a shining example of how we can align workforce training with the needs of our local industries.” (David Marquez, Executive Director of Bexar County Economic and Community Development, Bexar County Press Release dated December 13, 2024).
The purpose of the TX Fast Track Employer Committee is to enhance Bexar County’s workforce development strategy and ensure TX Fast Track supports a skilled, ready workforce that drives productivity and profitability in local manufacturing facilities.
Launched in December 2024, the TX Fast Track Employer Committee meets in person quarterly to provide feedback that ensures the county’s training program aligns with industry standards and complements both traditional and modern technologies used by local manufacturers. TX Fast Track aims for its multi-skilled graduates to meet and exceed the expectations of entry-level maintenance technicians, ensuring they are prepared to grow and specialize in multiple areas. Our goal is to create adaptable, diverse, and highly capable workers who can align with your company’s evolving needs and skill requirements.
The committee also addresses community-wide workforce trends, such as skill gaps, and explores strategies to overcome barriers in attracting high-quality talent—especially individuals who may not traditionally consider manufacturing as a career path.
By joining the TX Fast Track Employer network, your company gains access to a proven platform for recruiting and training individuals for advanced manufacturing careers, while also having a significant voice in ongoing discussions about community-wide economic development policies and their impact.
Bexar County Economic and Community Development leadership recognizes that skilled talent is the most valuable resource in the manufacturing industry. Partnering with TX Fast Track ensures your business has a steady pipeline of well-trained, ready-to-work candidates.
TX Fast Track is also open to manufacturing organizations interested in helping students gain career readiness and soft skills through mock interviews and plant tours. These opportunities allow companies to recruit from a pool of well-trained, vetted candidates. Additionally, TX Fast Track supports companies that wish to upskill current employees by adjusting work schedules to allow participation in the training program as incumbent workers.
